Hello dear KingsGate family,
I’ve just returned from an incredible two weeks in Redding where I attended WorshipU (Bethel Church’s annual Worship School). It was such a powerful time together with 650 worshippers from around the world, all hungry to meet with Jesus and see their cities and nations transformed through their worship.
Being in a room with so many people from multiple different nations, cultures, tribes, and tongues, was such a joy and such a privilege. It was a delightful reminder of what awaits us in heaven one day – everyone joining together as family in unity, to lift up the Name of Jesus and exalt Him with the highest praise and deepest worship. The entire time was drenched in His tangible presence and His intoxicating love.
On one of the Sunday evenings while I was there, a lady who had been unable to speak for 15 years felt something dislodging in her throat while everyone was worshipping, and all of a sudden she was able to speak! No one had prayed for her and no one had mentioned anything from the front about God wanting to heal anyone in the meeting. The only thing that had been happening in the room up to that point was unhindered, extravagant, wholehearted, abandoned, worship and adoration of the One whom all our hearts love passionately.
The worship team that night were leading us in a phrase “Faithful You are; faithful forever You will be; faithful You are; all your promises are yes and amen!”. It was while we were repeating and declaring that phrase over and over with faith and conviction that God decided to show up in tangible power and heal His precious daughter. God is alive and well and absolutely loves it when His children come together in unity to worship Him and be with Him and enjoy Him. It is one of His favourite things to hear all our beautiful voices rising up to Him as a fragrant offering of love.
The God of miracles responds to our worship in many ways. We never worship Him to get something from Him; we worship Him because He is worthy. But God is so deeply moved by our unified worship and adoration of Him that He often steps in and brings breakthrough in the midst of our darkest trials, deepest pain, and loneliest ‘prisons’, just like He did with Paul and Silas in prison in Acts 16. There was something about their heart and their choice to worship despite their circumstances that moved God’s heart to bring the breakthrough they needed. God is alive and well, and still moving in response to our worship today!
As a KingsGate family, one of the main outworkings of our vision of “On earth as it is in heaven” is “Loving God” and as a worship team, we are wanting to intentionally prioritise more times where we worship together outside of a Sunday for longer periods of time just because He’s worth it, and because we love Him, and want to grow in our intimacy with Him. It also gives our incredible God some unhindered time and space in our lives to meet with us, speak to us, love on us, bring healing, and set us free. Our desire is that you would come join us on these evenings as we grow in pursuing and loving God together and as we allow Him to have His way in us on earth as it is in heaven.
