REACHING OUT
community outreach
Jesus loves unconditionally, gives freely, and brings hope, justice and new beginnings.
We are called to do the same.
We are passionate about reaching out to the community around us, demonstrating and extending God’s Kingdom, and expressing the love of Father in many ways, both spiritually and practically.
Current initiatives
The Good Food Co-op
We are hugely excited to be part of launching The Good Food Co-op; an innitiative to help make healthy food accessible to all in our Borough. Put simply, every box of delicious fruit and veg that is purchesed helps a local family or individual in need to receive a box.
CHOIRS
CURRENTLY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19
Choirs are a wonderful way of reaching out to our community, encouraging people from all walks of life and backgrounds to come into a fun and engaging environment where they can establish relationships and build trust. Singing in choirs also has widely recognised positive impacts on both physical and mental health and we have seen the results of this first hand through the choirs we run.
WINTER NIGHT SHELTER
CURRENTLY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19
Running on Saturday evenings for February and March, providing a warm, safe place to sleep and a hot meal for men and women who are currently homeless in Kingston.
HOPE COMMUNITY LUNCH
Providing a free hot meal and a space for anyone in the community to connect.
Christmas Boxes
We organise giving generous Christmas Boxes to families in need in Ham. Initiated and run by KingsGate Ham, many of the local churches donate finances towards this initiative to love the vulnerable in our community.
Brite Boxes
Partnering with Voice of Hope, the Brite Box project helps to address the growing issue of food hunger in families. Around 200 families receive a a weekly box that has all the ingredients and a printed recipe guide along with photographs to illustrate, step by step, how to cook a healthy dinner meal together as a family. Once a month each family also receives a Baking Brite Box with all the ingredients to bake delicious, home-made family treats.
Sisterhood Sanctuary
Partnering with Voice of Hope, the Sisterhood Sanctuary is open to all women, but is especially for those who have been through domestic violence, assault, abuse, and mental or physical health challenges.
