We invite you to join our history makers Youth

We have a vibrant youth community of around 35 fantastic young people from year 7 to year 13. We enjoy doing life together growing in friendship and exploring faith in God.

Church Involvement (Sunday Evening Service)

The Youth are encouraged to be part of the evening service, which takes place at KingsGate Kingston from 5:30-7pm on a Sunday. Before the evening meeting (at 4:30pm), we provide a social space with table tennis and a pool table. We are very inclusive and always up for a quick round of Uno, Monopoly, Dobble or Irish snap, whilst we enjoy snacks and catch up on the week. After that, we join in with the usual Sunday service for worship. Once that has finished, the younger Youth head downstairs to meet separately, while the older Youth stay in the service for the preach and engage in the group question times.

Connect Groups for older Youth (Wednesdays & Thursdays)

Further discipleship for the older Youth happens in Youth Connect Groups run by some of our Youth leaders during term time from 7:30-9pm on Wednesday in Ham/Kingston and Thursdays in Esher.

Socials (Fridays)

We love doing socials, having fun, and hanging out together. These usually happen intermittently on a Friday from 7:30pm to 9.30pm, at KingsGate Kingston. In summer, we often go to a park and play volley ball or rounders, or we relax at the church and play games, with plenty of snacks and refreshments. We encourage the Youth the bring their friends. To find out when the next social is happening, please contact the church office.

Spiritual Growth & Serving

The spiritual growth, training, and discipleship of our Youth is important to us, along with putting what has been learnt into practice, through serving others. There is plenty of opportunity for the Youth to grow in leadership by running a Connect Group session, a bible study, leading a game on a Friday night, or being part of the Youth worship team. We encourage the youth to serve in our various church ministries as well as to volunteer for the charities we partner with.

External Youth Events

In summer 2022 we are planning a camping trip to one of the Youth festivals. These events are much anticipated and are often life changing. There will be plenty of opportunities to make new friends, worship and encounter the Holy Spirit over 5 days. They will come back on fire, with a passion for God.

Youth Leaders

All of our Youth leaders are carefully screened and DBS checked.

Safeguarding

KingsGate church takes the Safeguarding of the children and youth in our community very seriously. We work with various agencies to ensure we are up to date with information and regulations and have a safeguarding policy that applies to all ministries that work with children and young people. Our safeguarding officer Karen Reekie is available to help anyone with any concerns or questions. She can be reached via email at safeguarding@kingsgatechurch.org.uk.
