Our Story
Everyone has a story to tell
These are some of the highlights of our story so far
-
Planted
Planted by Nigel & Melita Day-Lewis in October 1995 with a team of about 30 people from South Africa. Our first meeting was in a tiny bed-sit in Chiswick with Nigel preaching sitting on the sink!
-
Grew and Moved
The initial plant grew into a regular Sunday gathering. We moved to different venues in Richmond and East Shene to accommodate the growing community.
-
New Leadership
In August 2007, God told Nigel the time had come to hand over LCI and to begin looking for a successor. Ryan & Melissa Matthews were invited by the elders to take over leadership of LCI.
-
Moved and Renamed
In September 2010 we moved into a new home of our own in the heart of Kingston town centre and we ‘relaunched’ as KingsGate Church.
-
Multiplied
Since 2010, KingsGate Church has established itself as part of the local community and has begun multiplying into several local church communities.
Told In Pictures
From the early days of a bedsit in Richmond, to the Empire building in Kingston town centre to new congregations in Ham, Wimbledon and Cobham, these are some of the faces and places that tell the KingsGate story. Enjoy the family album.
