Want to know more?
If the videos have whetted your appetite and you'd like to know more about your Father here are a number of options:
1. Blog
For those who have questions or just wanting to comment, go to the "who's your Daddy?" blog. We'll be adding more comments here and attempting to answer some questions. To read the blog or respond please visit our blog
2. Alpha
The Alpha course is an environment where people can ask questions. Each night there is a short talk about Jesus, why he came and what the implications are for us. Then there is a group discussion about the topic discussed and opportunity for attendees to state their views, agreements or objections.
If you would like more information about an Alpha course and details of where we are currently running them, find out more about Alpha here
3. Small groups
In a large group of people it's possible to get lost in the crowd. That's why we meet as small groups in people's homes. These are places to get to know people and be known, places to learn, places to work through life's difficulties together with friends who care about us. If you'd like to visit a small group in your area or want more information, find out more about home groups here
4. IGNITE
Every 4 - 6 weeks, the small groups meeting in the greater Wimbeldon area get together for a celebration. We've called it "IGNITE" because it's purpose is to set people on fire for Jesus, metaphorically of course! It's informal, starts with a meal, includes a short talk and time to tell God how great He is. If you'd like more information on this find out more here
5. Visit us
We'd love to meet you face-to-face and explain more about your Father. God's desire is for relationship with us, and for us to be in relationship with each other. Therefore, when God's children gather together it is primarily a family celebration. We meet in a school hall in East Sheen. Our gatherings involve socialising/catching up with friends, telling God we think He's great, hearing what He has to say to us, looking after each others needs and then more socialising, a lot like a large family party where our Father, God, is the guest of honour.
To give you some more detail, so you know what to expect, our style is fairly informal, there is no dress code, feel free to come and observe or participate to whatever degree you feel able.
When we tell God we think He's great, we usually use music, style varying from vibrant, exuberant rock, with dancing and celebration, to more intimate acoustic moments where there is freedom to kneel, lie down or sit.
At it's essence, this time is about saying "God your great and we love you". A quick glance at a football ground, a movie premier or a music concert, for example, shows we instinctively know how to express adoration and praise, and we want to create an environment where people can let all the love and praise in their hearts pour out to God.
Listening to what he has to say usually involves a talk, explaining a portion of the bible and applying it to modern life in London. Talks are usually 30 - 40 mins and, as we believe God's word is alive and active, are stimulating and challenging.
We also create space to look after each other's needs. This can involve spiritual, emotional or physical healing, counselling and advise, or just an ear to listen. Our Father sent His son to give us life without any limitations, and has instructed us to set people free to live in this. That's our "family business"!
